Kickass Endurance are based in Telford and organise endurance 5k & 10k runs around Shropshire, aiming to bring together an active community of people taking part for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or simply to finish! After holding many successful events, in Weston Park, Baggeridge and Buildwas, the family business has organised a brand-new event for 2020 – The Telford & Wrekin 10K, taking place on 12th April 2020. The event will welcome hundreds of runners, from first timers to the elite and will be officially started by the Telford & Wrekin Mayor, Cllr Stephen Reynolds!
Starting in Southwater, the route will continue on the Telford ring road, running past Thomas Telford school and The Rock, with various road closures in place, this new undulating run is a must for beginners or seasoned runners alike. The route has been certified as accurate as per UK Athletics and a certificate has been issued.
Parking at the event will be free but will require a small donation such as a tin of beans/pasta/tuna and will be collected on the carpark (next to TGI Friday) and donated to the Telford Food Bank. Kickass Endurance will also be kindly donating to Seven Hospice.
Those that wish to raise money for their own chosen charities can be supplied with a sponsor sheet for the event, if requested.
Every participant will be chip timed and receive a goodie bag for completing the race, included in this bag will be a t-shirt, some chocolate (it is Easter Sunday of course), a medal and some other goodies from local businesses. This year, Telford & Wrekin 10K have been proudly sponsored by many businesses such as Anytime Fitness Telford, Telford Podiatry, Wild Survivor, Diamond Taxi’s and also The Digital Glow.
Telford College and the Bridgnorth Army Cadet Force will also be getting involved in the action, many students from the local college and the cadets have volunteered to marshall at the event to motivate the runners around the course and ensure they are all safe.
The team are working closely with the local authority to make this new run a regular event on your running calendars, therefore your participation and support to make this event a success will be greatly appreciated.
You can still enter for the event on their website www.kickassendurance.co.uk. Discounts are available to affiliated members and local running clubs.
Alternatively, you can pay on the day, however this will be limited.
